WATER QUALITY UPDATE
_________________________________________________________________
August 20, 2010

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF WATER SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS OF CENTRAL COLDSTREAM

Due to the cooling weather trend there has been a slowdown in the demand to the water system. As a result, staff at the Regional District of North Okanagan are directing water system operators to alter system operation in central Coldstream.

System changes will slow the fl ow of Duteau water into central Coldstream, and will allow Kalamalka Lake water to reach areas further east. The above procedure is the reverse of the one that had to be implemented earlier this year when demands to the water system were increasing. Customers on Kalamalka Road located west of Aberdeen Road, and customers located west of McClounie Road, in the neighborhood of Tassie Drive, Cactus Drive, etc., may see changes to water quality on a daily basis for the next few weeks as demands change.

This changeover will take place on or about August 25, 2010. During the shoulder season when water demands are variable the boundary between the various water sources will be constantly changing and customers will experience different water sources from time to time. For more information, please visit our website at www.rdno.ca or contact our offi ce at 250-550-3700.b>.
